Outreach & Ministry

Outreach

CFR Outreach has been impacted by the recent Covid=19 lock-down, however, the Outreach group has been raising funds for the Vidiyal Trust, supporting the work of Revd Pat Atkinson in southern  India with children suffering from cancer and elderly people who live on the streets, for the last two years.

Within the UK the church actively supports a number of local charities for the homeless, such as St Martin’s Housing Trust and the YMCA. There is also strong support for  Christian Aid, Action for Children as well as two of the church supported local homes for the elderly at Corton House and Cromwell House.

The church regularly welcomes individuals and groups from overseas, some are students in Norwich and others locating here as refugees. We try to offer help to these friends as they come to terms with a new language and culture.

The church has strong ties with the adjacent Primary school.

The Outreach group seeks at all times to achieve the target to make all feel welcome

Ministry

We want to proclaim and show God’s love – not just in Norwich, not just in this country, but across the world.

We seek to care for all those connected with our church, and pastoral care is offered through our pastoral visitors, Ministry Team members and our Minister, Reverend Matthew.

One of the Ministry Team is also usually available during the Coffee Morning on Saturdays from 10 till 12.30.

We try to get to know newcomers quickly, and to include them in the fellowship as fully as possible, and to meet needs where we can. There is a welcome pack, which is available from the door stewards.

Opportunities for study of the faith, the Bible etc., are provided in various ways – through house groups, through short series of teaching.
